Christine Chi represents financial institutions, corporations and individuals in internal investigations, government investigations and related civil litigation.
Before joining Dewey & LeBoeuf, Ms. Chi served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York for more than five years. As a federal prosecutor, she conducted investigations and jury trials in numerous cases, ranging from bank fraud, securities fraud and wire fraud to murders in aid of racketeering, and argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Since returning to private practice in 2003, Ms. Chi has conducted numerous internal investigations for corporate clients, and has represented clients in federal and state investigations involving a broad range of issues and allegations including abusive tax shelters; Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations; mispricing of asset backed securities; insider trading in connection with credit default swaps; accounting fraud; and insurance fraud. She also has represented private educational institutions and officers of such institutions in investigations and civil litigation.
