Professional Development
Mentoring and Training
At Dewey & LeBoeuf, our lawyers are able to take advantage of many rewarding professional development opportunities in addition to challenging client assignments. Dewey & LeBoeuf University (DLU) provides an extensive curriculum for each phase of a lawyer's career. Courses include one-hour to multi-day programs that delve into the latest legal trends and the business of law with a focus on specific skills development.
Lawyers at Dewey & LeBoeuf receive formal feedback on a regular basis, which allows partners and associates to chart the appropriate course for career development and client service success.
The firm has an active Associate Relations Committee (known as the ARC). The ARC meets frequently with firm management to share information and ideas. The ARC is charged with identifying areas of focus for firm management and holds forums to solicit feedback from associates firmwide on topics such as: compensation; professional development opportunities and firm communications.
During the year, our firm acknowledges individual achievements through mentor and pro bono awards and celebrates the firm's contributions to the community at large.
Opportunities abound at Dewey & LeBoeuf. Ultimately, it is up to each and every lawyer to make the most out of the professional development opportunities available at the firm: from work assignments to mentoring; from pro bono to professional associations; from training to participation in firm committees and initiatives.
