Julia Dryden English
Counsel
Julia Dryden English is counsel in the firm's Energy and Communications Practice Group. Her practice includes representation of electric and natural gas utilities, independent power producers, power and natural gas marketers, qualifying facilities, large consumers, and debt and equity investors in a wide variety of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs and divestitures, bankruptcy restructurings, contract negotiation and drafting, transmission and interconnection issues, market-based and cost-based rates, project finance, settlements, administrative hearings, appellate litigation, bankruptcy, legislative lobbying and reform, and advise on state and federal regulatory issues. She has experience representing clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state public utility commissions and federal appellate courts. Ms. English also advises clients on project funding opportunities under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and Department of Energy (DOE) grant and loan guarantee programs.
