Dewey & LeBoeuf to Advise on Russia's First Airport Concession
(London - February 15, 2008) - Dewey & LeBoeuf announces that it is to advise the City of St. Petersburg on the Pulkovo Airport Expansion Project. Pulkovo is St Petersburg's main airport, and the third largest airport in Russia.
The City of St. Petersburg holds 100 per cent shares in the airport and will offer the airport to a private company under a 20-30 year concession via a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
This PPP scheme will see the upgrade and expansion of the airport's infrastructure to boost forecasted capacity requirements, increasing passenger volumes and air traffic growth over the next 25-30 years, including a new passenger terminal. The development is seen as an important element in the development of one of the major transport hubs in Russia.
Dewey & LeBoeuf is advising the City of St. Petersburg in partnership with Capital Legal Services, who are based in St. Petersburg.
London partner Bruce Johnston said "We are delighted to be advising, in partnership with CLS, the City of St. Petersburg on this groundbreaking concession. This development will see St Petersburg become one of the top destinations in Europe and will generate over $1 billion for the City, and it will be one of the first PPP projects in Russia."
