Jamie J. Spannhake Associate

Jamie Jackson Spannhake is an associate in the firm's Litigation Group. She has represented clients, as both plaintiff and defendant, in all stages of litigation and arbitration, including advising clients regarding whether to initiate proceedings, and from initial filing through trial or settlement. She has also handled appeals and managed complex hard-copy and electronic discovery productions. She has represented clients in a variety of matters in federal and state courts, and before domestic and international arbitral tribunals. She has experience handling general commercial litigation matters, including federal securities, lender liability, business torts, breach of contract, and breach of non-solicitation and non-competition agreements. She routinely represents clients who have been sued in violation of arbitration agreements and who wish to enforce their arbitration agreements in lieu of proceeding in court. The majority of clients that she has represented come from the telecommunications and energy industries.

On a pro bono basis, Ms. Spannhake has represented or provided legal advice to several local animal rights organizations, including a non-profit animal hospice organization located in Fort Salonga, New York. This organization was able to maintain its present operations after a successful lawsuit filed against the town in which it operates. In addition, Ms. Spannhake served as an extern to South Brooklyn Legal Services - Housing Division, representing indigent tenants in wrongful eviction proceedings.

Before joining Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, Ms. Spannhake was an associate at Thelen Reid & Priest LLP, and was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Joel F. Dubina of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
