Performance Assessments

Associates receive informal feedback on a regular basis. Feedback may come from a mentor, peer or senior attorney, and focuses on the associates work and firm contributions. Associates are also encouraged to provide informal feedback to secretaries, paralegals and more junior lawyers who they manage or mentor.

In addition, feedback is provided through the firm's formal performance assessment process. The lawyers with whom the associate works closely provide timely, focused feedback in areas such as substantive legal knowledge, communication skills, practice management skills and professionalism. Partners sit with each associate and discuss performance assessment results and establish professional and skills development goals for the next six to twelve months.
