ABB Inc. v. Cooper Indus., LLC

On February 17, 2011, the Federal Circuit reversed the district court’s dismissal for lack of subject matter jurisdiction of ABB’s declaratory judgment suit seeking a declaration of noninfringement of U.S. Patents No. 6,037,537, No. 6,184,459, No. 6,352,655, No. 6,398,986, No. 6,613,250, and No. 6,905,638, which related to electrical equipment containing dielectric fluid used to electrically insulate and thermally protect equipment such as transformers.
