Marshall C. Stoddard, Jr. is US head of the Bank and Institutional Finance Practice Group. As a transactional lawyer and corporate adviser, Mr. Stoddard practices in the areas of commercial, banking and bankruptcy law across a wide range of industries. He has extensive experience across a broad spectrum of matters, including:
Finance. Senior debt financing, commercial lending, corporate financing, asset-based lending, cash-flow lending, acquisition financing, mezzanine financing and syndications involving recapitalizations, refinancings, acquisitions, divestitures, restructures, consolidations and reorganizations. Industries involved span a wide range, including technology, logistics, entertainment, government contractors, media, import-export, consumer products, resort and leisure, franchisors, transportation, agriculture, aquaculture, and service companies.
Restructurings and Reorganizations. Debt restructuring primarily representing senior creditors and syndicate groups, bond holders, and secured creditors both in and out of bankruptcy; exit financing; contested bankruptcy matters; plan formulation; strategic divestitures; recapitalizations; and other financial and legal restructures.
The 2011 edition of Chambers USA notes that Mr. Stoddard is "'a very solid banking lawyer'" and that his arrival at Dewey & LeBoeuf as "the head of the national bank and institutional finance group 'has brought together a dedicated team of very skilled attorneys.'"
