Matthew Walsh is a member of Dewey & LeBoeuf's Litigation Department. His practice encompasses a wide range of commercial and business disputes, including merger litigation, disputes relating to asset-based securities and related financial products, corporate fiduciary duty claims, class action defense and corporate control lawsuits.
Representative Matters
- Providing litigation and pre-litigation counseling to parties in ABS and related disputes, including:
- Investors, originators, underwriters, and trustees with respect to rights and obligations under all aspects of ABS agreements, including PSAs, NIM trusts, term sheets and related documents;
- Financial and related institutions regarding potential claims and defenses under federal and state law with respect to underperforming ABS assets, issues regarding the structure of ABS transactions, and the potential rights and liabilities of the participants thereto; and
- Participants in ABS and related transactions with respect to servicing issues, putback claims and other potential claims and remedies.
- Representing parties in disputes arising out of corporate acquisitions and consolidations;
- Representing defendants in more than a dozen class actions; and
- Representing clients in state and federal government investigations.
Mr. Walsh has extensive appellate experience, and has first- or second-chaired more than 35 arbitrations and bench trials.
